I’d say this is 4.5*. Pretty durable for the price. The only issue I had was the plastic pins that go in the support pieces. They were a pain to get pushed into the holes. I had a few that broke while trying. Other than that it was a good purchase. I may purchase another in the future.

Item is just like described. Great shelves for a great price. When you first see its pieces you will be scared and after you put 3 pieces together you will think you made a mistake. BUT, the engineering is superb and when you get it all together it is stout. I would be fine loading the entire unit up with double stacked full paint cans. Although for a heavy load with a small footprint I will probably make my own shelves out of boards or plywood. As you see, the supplied shelves have no issue holding these full gallon jugs. For the normal garage junk I’ll using it for I won’t add anything as the unit is plenty stuff on its own. If I do use it to store Liquids or weights I would probably put a hardboard back on it. Honestly though simply attaching it to the wall with the supplied hardware would be fine. The ridiculous plastic hammer they provide works but it felt better to use a real rubber mallet. You don’t need to though. They also include gloves of a small size but they are super stretchy so I was able to use them. You can’t even find better shelves than this at the thrift stores for this price. Def worth it. Oh, super easy to put together too.

These are fairly lite duty shelves. I wouldn’t put real heavy items on them. But they are really good for the price. Easy to assemble. The center clamps that hold the top half to the bottom are directional. I got 2 on backwards before I realized that. The directions didn’t make note of that or missed it. The shelving material is a fiber board. Note sure how that would hold up in a high humidity area over time. They give you everything needed to assembly including a plastic hammer and gloves.
